Their classrooms emphasize confidence, technology, English fluency, and personal development — skills that extend far beyond academics. But what makes this partnership so special is how it feels like family.

A Deeper Partnership

Over the years, Silverleaf has become more than a school, it’s become a second home for our girls.

They’ve opened their doors and their hearts, even welcoming the Datooga mamas to stay at the school alongside the students. These mothers bring love, familiarity, and a touch of home, ensuring the girls are never far from the traditions that raised them.

Together, we’ve built a bridge between worlds, where modern education meets ancestral wisdom. Through a special culture class, the girls continue to learn and preserve the traditional Datooga songs, dances, and language that connect them to their roots. It’s a space where pride and progress coexist — a true reflection of what Hawega stands for.

They study hard, sing proudly, and dream bigger- all because of this shared vision between our foundation, the Silverleaf team, and supporters like you.

We are working together to sponsor more students for next year and discuss plans to potentially build a satellite Silverleaf School closer to the Village.
